🌸Paula Hawkins- Into The Water review🌸

I am a massive fan of the book “Girl On The Train” by Paula Hawkins and I knew immediately I wanted to read more of her work.  When her second book “Into The Water” was released I got it immediately.

The book is set in a small town where a particular river aka “The Drowning Pool” is located. Many people have died there whether that is by being killed or by committing suicide, a woman called Nell Abbott had an obsession with it and wrote stories about it. Nel is the latest death in The Drowning Pool and the story is about the police trying to figure out what exactly happened to her and the rest of the women who have died there.

The book has multiple characters and viewpoints which at times got confusing because it was hard to remember who was who and because of this you did not get to know the characters very well. The book was written well and had very short chapters which I like because it makes you feel like you’re making progress. Whilst this book had a slow start, it definitely picked up speed in the second half and I loved the turnout and the ending. It wasn’t as suspenseful as The Girl On The Train but it was still a page turner and I never lost interest. One of the characters in this book was Nell’s daughter, it was interesting to see how she dealt with the death of her mother and how that changed throughout the book. This book isn’t just about finding out how these women died, it is also about the friendship between two girls and family relationships.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait to read more of her work.
